The year: 1989. Fearing a drug cartel, John Vernon kidnaps his own daughter, only to have the cartel kidnap her during his own kidnapping. Vernon calls the A-Team - I mean, David Hasselhoff and friends, who go off and explode stuff and rescue Linda Blair.
This is a classic 80s action comedy found on the bottom shelf of your local videostore. Comedy veers toward ethnic stereotypes, which is why the movie was originally called W.B., Blue, and The Bean. My favorite scene? Two of them break into the bad guys' hideout by saying they are the gas men and they are investigating a gas leak. "What gas leak?" asks the bad guy receptionist. On cue, the third guy explodes dynamite. "That gas leak," says the other two.
There's also a scene with a youngish Danny Trejo. Plus, Blue played for the Oakland Raiders. Recommended.
