Listen to the Let's Watch A Full-Length Movie on YouTube podcast and watch Saving Christmas (2014), aka Kurt Cameron's Saving Christmas, embedded above, at the same time. Start with the podcast. Click here to launch the podcast in separate browser tab.

"It's like Santa carjacked Christmas, and he's like, [imitating Santa Claus driving, hands on the wheel, head nodding and singing] 'Rolling, rolling, rolling...'"

There's a genre of films - The Party (2017) being the latest - where most of its running time takes place during a party. Guests enter, achieve hubris, and nothing is ever the same again.

One of my favorites of the genre is a recent faith-based movie. It stars celebrities playing themselves throwing a party in one of their Los Angeles homes. There's a Doubting Thomas at the party who's  religious faith is restored in the end. The movie is called This Is The End (2013) with Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, James Franco, Craig Robinson, Danny McBride, and Jonah Hill, and it's streaming on Netflix.

Streaming on YouTube is Saving Christmas (2014) with Kirk Cameron and his sister Bridgette as themselves. It's Christmas Eve at Bridgette's Los Angeles home. Her husband (named Christian and played by the director) sits in his parked car, doubting Christmas. Kirk follows him and sits in the passenger seat. Christian riffs about Christmas like an open mic comedian (see quote above). Kirk spouts out 3 bullet points on "seeing Christmas with new eyes." (Carl and I discuss it all on our podcast). Christian reenters his house not doubting Christmas and nothing is ever the same again.  That occurs one hour into the film so the entire party dances to a full-length song, there's more Kirk Cameron voice-over, then credits, bloopers, outtakes, and a deleted scene.

Since the movie was produced by Liberty College, here's a pop quiz. From memory, draw the floor plan of Kirk's sister's house and tweet it:

The answer, and a viral photo of Kirk, after the break.
