Movie Goer: One for Summer Job.
Ticket Vendor: We're not hiring right now.
Movie Goer: No, I'm here for the movie Summer Job.
Ticket Vendor: You'll have to speak to the manager.

Summer Job - a title so generic, I still refer to it as "Summer Camp." For a title of a teen sex comedy, however, it's genius. It immediately telegraphs its premise of college coeds working in a scenic location. Here, it's a Miami racquetball resort, and the kids come from everywhere. One goes to a "fancy" school in San Francisco, another goes to UC Berkeley, so there's the Bay Area representing. We see a surfer who walks out of her house, grabs her surfboard, and hitchhikes to the Florida resort. Later she says she's from Hawaii.

Seems that for one crazy summer, the staff and guests tan poolside, play pranks, and oogle and grope everyone. It's a creeper paradise, but standard for the genre.

Another standard is the original motion picture soundtrack. Not only does Summer Job has dozen of inspirational montage-ready songs, it top-bills a band called "Orkestra" who they play poolside at the end. It's an inspirational song about how we are all winners (I prefer Traxx's final song myself). The characters dance to the cameras, we see one more topless woman, and the movie ends.

Special guest on the episode is Adam Spiegelman, host of the cult movie podcast Proudly Resents, and my brother. His show is a big influence on mine. He made a supercut of all his Christmas movie episodes, check it out.
